Code of Conduct

GLN Member Code of Conduct

GLN is built on the belief that the right people, in the right room, can change everything. That only works if everyone inside holds themselves to a standard. This code of conduct isn't a list of restrictions. It's an agreement between members to protect what makes this community worth being in.

By joining GLN, you agree to the following.

1. Expected Standards of Conduct

Membership in GLN comes with a responsibility to contribute positively to the community. We expect every member to:

Respect & Inclusion

Treat every person in this network with dignity and courtesy. Differences in background, identity, experience, or opinion are what make this community valuable. Engage with that diversity with openness, not judgment.

Collaboration

Welcome new members. Share knowledge freely. Approach every interaction with a mindset of adding value, not extracting it. A rising tide lifts all boats, and this community is proof of that.

Professional Decorum

Whether you're in one of our online spaces or at an in-person event, you represent GLN. Show up the way you'd want someone to show up for you.

Accountability

Disagreements happen. When they do, keep it respectful and focused on ideas, not people. Accept feedback graciously. Own your mistakes. That's what leaders do.

2. Unacceptable Behaviors

The following will not be tolerated under any circumstances:

Harassment & Bullying

Any form of intimidation, persistent unwanted contact, physical harassment, or use of demeaning, derogatory, or threatening language toward any member or guest. This includes behavior online and in person.

Discrimination

Prejudiced commentary or actions based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, nationality, age, or any other protected characteristic have no place here.

Solicitation Abuse & Spamming

GLN exists to facilitate genuine relationships, not mass outreach. Using the membership directory or community platforms to cold pitch, spam, or send unsolicited sales messages is a direct violation of the trust this community is built on.

Disruption

Disrupting events, panels, discussions, or the online community in any way that undermines the experience of other members will result in immediate review. GLN events are meant to be genuinely fun. We encourage members to enjoy themselves, drinks included. That said, excessive intoxication that affects your behavior toward others or the environment we've worked to create is not acceptable. Know your limit and respect the room.

3. Business Ethics & Confidentiality

Confidentiality

What's shared inside GLN stays inside GLN. Respect the privacy of fellow members and their clients. Do not share sensitive information, business details, or personal conversations outside of the community without explicit permission.

Conflict of Interest

If you have a personal or business relationship with another member that could create a real or perceived conflict, disclose it. Transparency protects everyone.

Integrity

Represent your credentials, experience, and intentions honestly. Members are expected to be in good standing within their respective industries and professions. Misrepresentation of any kind is grounds for removal.

4. Member Conduct & No Solicitation

GLN exists to help members build real professional relationships. Doing business with people you meet here is welcome. Treating the membership as a lead list is a violation of these terms.

You agree not to do any of the following.

1.Collect, copy, export, or compile member contact information or profile details, by hand or with automated tools, for any purpose other than connecting with individual members one to one.
2.Send bulk, templated, or repeated unsolicited sales, fundraising, or recruiting messages to members, inside the portal or through contact details you found there.
3.Add members to mailing lists, marketing campaigns, or automated outreach sequences without their clear permission.
4.Share, sell, or give member information to anyone outside GLN.
5.Use bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the portal, or try to get around the daily limits on messages, contact views, and other activity.
6.Keep contacting a member who has asked you to stop.

We monitor portal activity to enforce this section, as described in our Privacy Policy. If we believe you've violated it, we may warn you, limit your access, or suspend or end your membership at our discretion. Fees already paid, and any fees owed for the rest of a minimum commitment, aren't refundable. These obligations continue after your membership ends for any member information you obtained while you were a member.

5. Reporting & Enforcement

How to Report

If you witness or experience a violation of this code, report it directly to GLN leadership. All reports are taken seriously, handled confidentially, and reviewed promptly. We will never penalize someone for reporting in good faith.

Due Process

Every report will be reviewed fairly. We will gather relevant information, speak with the parties involved where appropriate, and make a decision based on the full picture, not assumptions.

Consequences

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, consequences may include a formal warning, temporary suspension from community platforms or events, or permanent revocation of membership. GLN reserves the right to remove any member whose behavior is inconsistent with the values and standards of this community, at our discretion.

This community is only as strong as the people in it. We hold this standard not because we have to, but because it's what everyone here deserves.
